About This Novel
This is a noble and poetic black story. In front of the "Dancer" club, private detective Philip Marlowe met a drunk named Terry Lennox. He was a man with scars on his face, desolate but elegant, who had just been dumped by his beautiful blonde wife. Over the next few months, a wonderful friendship formed between them. Until one night, Lennox suddenly showed up at Marlowe's house and said he was in "big trouble" and needed Marlowe to take him to the Tijuana airport. Marlowe agreed to his request without asking why. After Marlowe returned to Los Angeles, he learned that Terry's wife, the daughter of a powerful media tycoon, was killed at home. Lennox fled just after that and was a major suspect. Marlowe was arrested by the police, but he refused to betray Lennox's whereabouts...
