In May 1997, Mr. Z photographed fishermen at work in Shiliu Temple, K City, H Province. Many of the fishermen here come from Shuangpo Village, Dongying Town, Q City, which is dozens of kilometers away from K City. The fishermen in Shuangpo Village, Dongying Town, do not stay at the Shiliu Temple every day. They have to "catch the water" and stay at the Shiliu Temple for a fixed number of days every month. In addition, due to the pressure of livelihood, Mr. Z must also spend a certain amount of time to shoot advertisements to maintain his minimum living standard. As a result, they were separated in two directions. Not every time Mr. Z came to Shiliu Temple, he would meet the fishermen working here in Shuangpo Village. If the fishermen happened to go back, Mr. Z would have no choice but to walk along the riverside. Mr. Z likes Province H and the people here. Although he can't understand a word of Province H, he still stubbornly believes that this is the last piece of pure land untouched by "modern civilization." When the fishermen are away, the temporary "pier" where the boats are moored sits empty.
