About This Novel

A man I fell in love with told me a story about his life. I have a childhood friend who lives in the same village. We go to school and play together, and we are really close friends. The small river in front of our village swells in spring, and many fish are jumping in the water. Fa Xiao and I went to catch fish together, and the basin for holding fish was placed on the shore. Every time we caught a fish, we swam back hard and put it in the basin. We caught them from late school until dark, and didn't go home until the washbasin was full. The sound of parents shouting to go home for dinner came from the village, and we hurriedly divided the fish on the shore. Fa Xiao plowed the grass by the river, tied up his trouser legs, caught the fish in his trouser legs, and poured water into it. I carried the washbasin and ran home quickly, carrying two trouser legs that looked like pig intestines.
