The King of Shanghai (starring Yuan Li and Zhong Hanliang)
by Hongying
About This Novel
"Shanghai King" is the first part of the famous writer Hong Ying's "Rewriting the Flower of Shanghai Trilogy" ("Shanghai King", "Death in Shanghai" and "Shanghai Magician"). It tells the story of a legendary woman in Shanghai in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Xiao Yuegui, a country girl whose parents both died, was sold into a brothel. The madam Xin Daiyu disliked her for being clumsy and unable to receive customers, so she was only used as a rough girl. Unexpectedly, Chang Lixiong, the leader of the Hong Gang, fell in love with her at first sight. Chang Lixiong was about to marry Xiao Yuegui but was suddenly assassinated. But it was her wink that ruined Chang Li's male life and Xiao Yuegui's future. Xiao Yuegui has fallen to the bottom of Shili Foreign Exchange, but she never forgets Chang Lixiong. Xiao Yuegui made a comeback with the help of Huang Peiyu, the new Hong Gang boss whom she saved with a wink, and became the "Queen of Shenqu" Xiao Yuegui, but she found out that Huang Peiyu was the mastermind of Chang Lixiong's assassination. Xiao Yuegui teamed up with Chang Lixiong's old bodyguard Yu Qiyang to design to kill Huang Peiyu and push Yu Qiyang to the position of the leader of the Hong Gang. The TV series of the same name was broadcast in 2008, starring Yuan Li and Zhong Hanliang. The movie of the same name co-stars Hu Jun, Yu Nan, Feng Xiaoyue, and Qin Hao and will be released on February 17, 2017.

I've watched the movie and now I'm reading the novel. I really want to watch the movie Shanghai King 2?(?╯?╰??)
nice
I watched the movie and the TV series, and then I came to read the book, A Legendary Life!
I haven't started watching it yet, let's read the comments first
After reading it, I felt at a loss. Is it sadness for her, or anger for me?
Traveling through Shanghai, where you can reach the toilet, there is Miss Bigfoot's first-class book apartment, gangs and warlords have emerged from the ground, and a river leads two worlds, one is lonely, and the other is extremely prosperous. The Shanghai described by the author is indeed not just a place where petty bourgeoisie sentiment spreads, but a gathering of heroes who are open and close. Chang Lixiong's bloody nature, Huang Peiyu's suspicion, Yu Qiyang's gentleness, and women like Xin Daiyu and Xiao Yuegui, should be said to have replaced the world of men in troubled times. However, all the bloodshed and calmness are not worth time. Buildings are getting taller and taller, people are growing up, and everything is gone.

Not so much
Not great, very average
Just passing by...
Not bad, you can take a look
Not interested in reading the introduction
