About This Novel

This is a reportage written to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Kangding. At the end of 1949, the Xikang Provincial Government responded to Liu Wenhui's call and announced an uprising in Kangding from the Kuomintang group. However, before the Chinese People's Liberation Army entered Kangding, a group of Kuomintang troops rushed to Kangding from the direction of Danba. The uprising Xikang Provincial Government was hesitant. Some people expressed their determination to follow the Communist Party and fight the Kuomintang army to the end; while others regretted the uprising, thinking that the Kuomintang army could really withstand the wheel of history. Two different forces started a battle. "Records of the Liberation of Kangding" truly reflects this period of history and profoundly reveals the complex inner world of those people during those thrilling years.
