After reading "Jingzhe", I didn't feel as strong as the shock that "Jingzhe" gave me at the time, but I also liked it very much, especially the entangled emotions of Du Huangqiao and Kailai. The pairing of Zhao Qian and Shen Kexi was very charming. The ending is as fast, loud and meaningful as ever. The battle after Sumen left Kailai was her alone. She cried to death.
Although it didn't shock me as much as Jingzhe (Jingzhe cannot surpass it), this novel is still very exciting. Its biggest feature is that the plot is rich, exciting, with many twists and turns, and the relationships between the characters are intricate. Chen Kailai is different from other protagonists in that he goes from the War of Resistance to Liberation, from a person at the beginning to a group of people, and finally to a person for a long time, waiting to wake up. Chen Kailai is really lonely. All the supporting characters have flesh and blood and are deeply touching. Shen Kexi and Zhao Qian are like a pair of desperate mandarin ducks. They look at the bright spring and snow, but in fact they are fighting bloody battles. Sumen is a super god, mysterious and unpredictable, and the final ending is too terrible. The overlap between people is short and fleeting. There are only memories and the yellowed photos on the wall, seventy-nine, each of which is the shadow of her rotating smile.
