About This Novel

At the end of 2049, a political and legal committee member who was preparing to legislate to restrict prosthetics was assassinated by a chariot in the club. However, the assassination failed and the assassin committed suicide. When the assassin lurked into the club in disguise, he promised to give the club owner a new type of electronic brain firewall. After the assassin committed suicide, the club owner had no choice but to hire retired detective Chen Hairui to investigate the mastermind behind the assassination. At this time, the military and public security systems were undergoing adjustments, and they had no time to worry about investigating the case. The deputy director of the Public Security Bureau and military intelligence officers who hoped to profit from the case approached Chen Hairui one after another. Chen Hairui dealt with several forces, and gradually found out that the assassin used an efficient electronic brain technology, which cracked some of the memory and emotional codes, could effectively brainwash, and could also be used to create an electronic brain firewall that was difficult to crack.

A terrifying mystery to ponder

I guess the author wants to say that the soul anchor gave Zhang Han's puppet self-awareness, his own soul, and carried out the first assassination by his own will when the link was disconnected. When I think of this, I really get chills down my spine. Personally, I think this is the sublimation of the entire book. I really like the author's writing style. After reading The Pain Cycle, I found this book and read it in one sitting. It was very enjoyable. Personally, I think the only shortcoming is that all the characters are telling witticisms, and if they are told too much, it will make people feel uncomfortable.

It feels like chasing a murderer in the white night in a science fiction setting. A possibility of cyberpunk in future China worth a look
