About This Novel
Chekhov is a world-class Russian short story master and the last critical realist art master in Russia in the late 19th century. Together with the French writer Maupassant and the American writer O. Henry, he is known as one of the "three major short story writers in the world". This collection contains 15 short stories. "In Hometown" describes a young girl who unconsciously sinks into an empty and idle life, showing the decay of the old Russian system. "Verochicka" describes Verochicka who expressed her feelings to the young man she admired, but was rejected by the other party, and the young man also felt deeply regretful.
