About This Novel
24-year-old Yi is simple, free and independent. He graduated from law school, passed the New York State bar exam, and found his first job in a Manhattan law firm. At the end of the summer of the same year, she met Lyle Alton, a 34-year-old wealthy man, at a cocktail party. Two people with different native languages, different nationalities, different ages, different classes, and different experiences, from games to seriousness, love each other but do not know each other. They got married because of Yi's unexpected pregnancy, but soon broke up because of various conflicts in their lives. After the divorce, the two gradually got along together while raising their daughter, got to know each other, and began to try to change for a life together. As the book concludes: I don't know where we will go, and I'm not sure what I want. Maybe we are still not suitable, maybe this new relationship will end. By that time, maybe the relationship between us will really be over. That's it, it's a deep helplessness.

I can't accept any excuse no matter how much love I have. I don't care how many people I've had before dating. I just care about not betraying me after dating. Or when my wife is pregnant, saying she's a stranger she may not even know. It doesn't necessarily mean she's in love if she can get into bed with her. I felt true love before marriage and couldn't imagine cheating. Why did you end up in someone else's bed when you were pregnant and married? When you needed you most, you ended up in someone else's bed.
