
About This Novel
The King Bell, placed next to the bell tower of Ivan the Great in the Kremlin, weighs 202 tons and is 6.14 Meters high. It was cast between 1733 and 1735. A fire broke out before it could be lifted out of the casting pit. Due to uneven cold and heat and sudden changes, an 11.5-Ton iron block fell from the bell, causing a huge gap in the world's largest bell. On the first day of mid-autumn in 2000, Kostya and I were walking on Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg. Kostya pointed to a block and said, "Look, these buildings are very European. I like them very much." Could it be that Russia is not a European country? Kostya, male, 24 years old, Muscovite, lives near the southern terminus of the Green Line Metro. He graduated from the Department of Law of Moscow State University, majoring in civil law, and is currently a graduate student at the Russian National Institute of Far Eastern Studies.
