About This Novel

In 1841, Dickens moved to Devonshire Lane and met the owner of an old antique shop, which he used as material to create "The Old Antique Shop". The book tells the story of the tragic experience of an old antique shop owner and his little granddaughter. In order to let his little granddaughter live a secure life, the owner Toronte unfortunately fell into the trap of a loan shark and lost his old antique shop. As a result, the grandfather and grandson were displaced. Dickens portrayed the innocent and kind-hearted little Nell with deep sympathy and love, which touched the hearts of countless readers.
