Double Helix
by Yang Wanqing
About This Novel
Her black pupils were like a calm lake, with a mirror image on the lake. It was an ugly man with a Habsburg chin smiling awkwardly; he stood above the dark, boundless wilderness, and the scarlet sunlight was like a burning fire on the horizon. Illuminating a huge tower that reaches the sky formed by two twisted spiral stairs... This book collects Yang Wanqing's representative short stories since his debut, including "Double Helix", "Anthropomorphic Algorithm", "Epitaph", "The Wind in the Sky", "Evil Dragon", "Sin", etc.

Hard science fiction in soft science fiction
Some of Yang Wanqing's articles are really amazing, but some are just average. I like the first one the best. I feel enlightened after reading it. Very simple, yet groundbreaking. The penultimate chapter "Sin" is also very good. It's like watching a suspense blockbuster about criminal psychology and social transformation. Then I like Hu Ba Dao, he is a really interesting soul. Although it has a very chronological feel, I really like reading period articles. I was happy to know his true identity. I feel like he is exactly what he should be. I think the overall level of Yang Wanqing's book is similar to Zhang Ran's.
