"Tattoo" is an early work by Junichiro Tanizaki. It tells the story of Seiyoshi, a well-known tattoo artist who searched for a woman with supreme grace to create the pinnacle work of his life, and finally got what he wanted. The work was favored by Kafeng Nagai, the originator of Japanese aestheticism, for its novel conception and smooth writing.
