About This Novel
"On Sea Power", also known as "The Influence of Sea Power on History", constructed the famous Mahan Doctrine and directly contributed to the rise of the navies of Germany, Japan, Russia and the United States. Mahan believed that a country founded on trade must seize and maintain command of the sea and control the oceans. To seize and maintain control of the sea, one must have dominant maritime power, that is, a powerful fleet and merchant fleet as well as a developed base network. This book is known as the "Bible" of the Navy.
