Goddess of Wall Street
About This Novel
Isabel is an independent and courageous Wall Street star. In her thirties, she owns a beautiful Upper West Side apartment, three healthy children, a handsome husband and a high-paying and busy job. Beneath all this glamorous appearance, her real life is another story: the working environment of her trading department is like a fraternity party scene in the 1980s, dominated by men; her husband has always felt that he is being squeezed by his employer, and he is full of resentment every day; most of the childcare work and housework fall on her already overburdened shoulders. The appearance of Bell's ex-fiancé Henry makes everything seem to take a turn for the better. Although she never fully forgave Henry, his reputation as a "hedge fund tycoon" made Henry shine in Belle's eyes, and he became her biggest client. At the same time, women who had experienced sexual harassment in Bell's office began to take action to improve their working environment and formed a mysterious organization called the "Glass Ceiling Club." The purpose of this organization is to soften the rude and unequal office culture so that everyone is fairly rewarded for their work. All along, Bell sensed that financial markets were about to undergo a historic collapse, and that many things would change: her marriage, her career, her entire world.
