Grandpa Rafael is a well-known witch doctor. His talents include but are not limited to talking to the dead, predicting the future, curing diseases and saving people, and summoning the clouds and calling for the sun... Even when he was buried, many people rushed to stuff notes with wishes into the coffin, hoping that grandpa's magic would help them realize it. Mother, a strange woman who doesn't abide by the rules and is not afraid of tradition, is what my grandfather calls a "little mountain beast". She is smarter and wilder than any man my grandfather knew. Not only does she have the ambition to inherit witchcraft, she can also talk to ghosts and gods in two places. I am in college in Chicago, have a satisfying boyfriend, and live an ordinary life with peace of mind. Amnesia in a car accident awakened the psychic ability, and I was summoned by my deceased grandfather in a dream, and was pulled by a magical destiny... Several relatives, including my mother, all dreamed of my grandfather. This was a shared dream. We decided to return to Colombia, dig up my grandfather's coffin, and unearth the hidden family history.
