About This Novel
This book tells the story that in order to get rid of the label of underdevelopment, Wenshan Municipal Party Committee Secretary Shi Yanan and Mayor Fang Zhenggang blindly pursued GDP and worked hard to launch 7 million tons of steel, but they caused a major economic disaster. They engaged in local protectionism and acted according to the unwritten rules of the officialdom, even breaking laws and disciplines. In the end, Wu Yazhou, the city's largest entrepreneur, committed suicide and apologized, and more than 16 billion was thrown into the water. Shi Yanan and Fang Zhenggang learned from the painful experience and tried every means to turn the tide, but they still did not change their fate of being investigated and dismissed. As the title of the book says, some people should be heroes, but with one careless move, they lose everything. The cycle of cause and effect in this world is very strange, and we should be more cautious in our words and deeds.
One who does not care about the overall situation is not enough to care for a region. Although local protectionism can maintain one party's temporary utilitarianism, it will harm the long-term interests of the people.
If you want to understand the social system from all aspects and angles, then this story will definitely be your key to a new world. It doesn't take much to say, and those who understand it will understand.
