About This Novel
This book uses the past to satirize the present. The background of the story is the ninth year of the Republic of China when the Beiyang warlords ruled. In May of this year, a major gas explosion occurred in a coal mine in northern my country, and more than a thousand miners were trapped underground. The underground fire burned fiercely, and the entire high-quality coal field was about to be destroyed, and the whole country was shocked. In order to preserve the coal fields, the Beiyang government ordered the mines to be closed. Unexpectedly, a civil uprising was triggered, and tens of thousands of people, under the control of local gentry and merchants, feudal elders and various people, occupied the mines and launched armed riots.
