Siddhartha
About This Novel
Siddhartha, a young Brahmin from ancient India, embarked on a long road of asceticism. He left the privileged aristocratic home alone, went from conscious abstinence to self-exile and sensual enjoyment, and finally achieved inner peace. He left the past behind all the way, and after realizing that the world is a grassroots team and the meaninglessness of life, he went to live a positive life.

Good quotes to share
I found it very strange. Some of the sentences in it were different from what I remembered. It should be due to different versions, but it does not affect my sharing with you: About self and awakening: 1. "I no longer compare this world with the perfect world I expect and shape, but accept it, love it, and belong to it." (The tolerance and reconciliation that Siddhartha finally realized transcends duality.) 2. "Wisdom cannot be conveyed in words. A wise man's attempt to impart wisdom is like an idiot's dream." (Knowledge can be taught, wisdom can only be awakened through personal experience.) 3. "My only thing is to love the world. I don't despise the world, don't hate the world or myself, embrace love, and look at everything that exists with wonder and awe." (A deep gaze on the essence of life after letting go of obsession.) About time and eternity: 4. "Everything is essence and now." (Time is just an illusion, the truth is in every "moment".) 5. "River water is everywhere. Whether it is at the source, estuary, waterfall, dock, or in rapids, oceans, or mountain streams. For river water, there is only the present." (The river is used as a metaphor for the fluidity of time and the unity of life.) About life and existence 6. "Knowledge can be shared, wisdom cannot be shared, it can be discovered and experienced." (Emphasis on the decisive significance of practice and experience for enlightenment.) 7. "Man lives his life alone, being stained, bearing his guilt, drinking bitter wine, and looking for a way out." (Individuals must complete spiritual penance and transcendence alone.) 8. "There is no past, no future. Everything is essence and present." (Break the shackles of time and reach the essence of existence.) On desire and detachment: 9. "Love can be begged, purchased, given, or found in back alleys, but it cannot be taken by force." (A cold-eyed look at worldly desires, with implicit irony.) 10. "A person who searches often only focuses on the thing he is searching for. He finds nothing and accepts nothing." (Obsession hinders the understanding of the truth.) About the harmony of life: 11. "The world is not incomplete, every moment in the world is perfect." (Accept all things as they are and get rid of discrimination.) 12. "Meaning and essence are never hidden behind things, they are in them, in everything." (The truth is not in the distance, but in the subtleties of the present.)
Loving everything is the source of inner peace!
See through everything, tolerate all things, good and evil, right and wrong... This is the truth of all things, but it is just the product of stages. The moment a stone hits you on the head makes you angry, not that there is anything wrong with the stone itself, nor the person who hurt you? It was just a stage mistake caused by pursuing his goal! !
A journey of the soul. I have seen the stars and the sea, the sun rising and the moon setting. Time and all things are still in constant change. I am both outside and inside. Harmony, a complete understanding of the world! Smile, the roundness and unity of everything!
obscure
I learned about this book from someone last year and tried to read it several times. I couldn't read the first chapter. It was really obscure and difficult to understand. Many of the dialogues and narrations had to be thought about after reading to understand what they meant. I don't know if this is the original text or the translator did it on purpose. But what surprises me is that there are so many fans, and there are quite a few people who quote the content in the article and post little red books on their hair, which is really not to my liking.
very good
Man lives his life alone, suffers stains, bears his guilt, drinks bitter wine, and looks for a way out!
Exploring the journey of personal awakening and self-seeking. It leads readers to sail in the river of the soul and realize the true meaning of life, love and existence.
But the desire is still burning in my heart
Siddhartha finally reached harmony after exploring life and himself again and again. Don't be arrogant about all things and things, accept it, face it with a "love" attitude, experience more, pursue it but don't get trapped in it. While you have goals, don't be constrained by them.
When I first read this book, I laughed self-righteously at the stubbornness and pedantry of the protagonists. It was only after experiencing the trials of the world and the struggles of letting go of my ego that I began to accept overwhelming experiences and feelings. Maybe I still want to seek perfection and detachment, maybe I am.
If there is eternal and incomparable love, there will be no war, and broad thinking comes from the kindness of the heart.
