About This Novel
This article is Dazai Osamu's rare "Sunrise Work". Through the description of the "journey to find roots", he explores his own nature as a Tsugaru person, and indirectly expresses his rich customs through stories with his friends. While showing his love for the countryside, he also faintly reveals a desire to stay away from the hustle and bustle. In the context of the time, it was also a rare masterpiece in pursuit of tranquility. Dazai Osamu (だざいおさむ), whose real name is Tsushima Shuji (つしましゅうじ), is a Japanese novelist and a representative writer of Japanese post-war rogue literature.
