About This Novel
"Venus in Furs" is Masoch's most important sadomasochistic work. This is the story of a noble man who willingly becomes the slave of a lady. He was willing to be driven by her, punished by her, and become her property over which she had the power of life and death. In the process of the two of them getting along, the woman was always reluctant. In the end, she fell in love with someone else and cruelly ended their relationship.
