The famous French writer, thinker, and feminist leader Beauvoir's masterpiece, a work that won the French Goncourt Literary Prize, and a documentary of post-war European society and culture. Based on the writing and social life circle in which she lived, Beauvoir described the activities and ideological processes of a group of intellectuals in Paris from 1944 to 1945, when France was at the end of World War II and about to fall into the Cold War. This novel has a strong documentary color, and the relationship between Dubreuil and his wife corresponds to the mutual attachment, respect and independence between Beauvoir and Sartre. Anna Dubreuil's image of an intellectual woman and Robert Dubreuil's identity as a famous writer involved in politics are very consistent with Beauvoir and Sartre in reality.
