It was so silent that everyone could hear Piggy's huffing and puffing breathing. The sun shone in slantingly, and half of the platform was covered with golden sunlight. The breeze on the lagoon came one after another, like a kitten chasing its own tail, taking its way across the platform and into the forest. Ralph pushed back a lock of blond hair from his forehead.

It seems there is no shortage of fresh water here

There were a batch of coconut shells lined up in the shade of the tree. Jack picked up one filled with water and drank it in one gulp. The water splashed onto his chin, head, neck and chest. After drinking the water, he gasped for air.

Why not stop the twins?

The twins, trembling with each other's arms, ventured a few yards to a neighboring shack to spread the formidable news. Ralph stood up, and for the sake of his own dignity, despite his trepidation, he walked to the platform. Piggy and Simon followed him, and the other children followed on tiptoe.

darkest hour

The evil of human nature is nakedly displayed in this book, so is ugliness innate? No, of course not~ First of all, there is a lack of a real leader among this group of people. This is not because they lack IQ and ability, but because their emotional intelligence is slightly flawed. Although they are only children, some fatal flaws are obvious, including Ralph's arrogance and prejudice, Piggy's bitterness and meanness, and poor Simon's lack of courage to express his opinions. The most terrifying thing in the team is the black sheep like Jack, who is unwilling to obey, is pretentious, and can always lead others away with some attractive offers. As for Roger, let's not talk about it. There are also such chilling people in reality. If you have experienced a nuclear war and suffered an air crash, you should at least learn to be more tolerant and kind. Civilization is always fragile and may become ruins overnight; human nature is always soft and may become distorted in one day. If justice does not carry deadly weapons, then evil will immediately invade him, so any order must be strongly protected, from moral character to law.

If a literary work contains too many philosophical or political labels, does it still read like literature?

Piggy, thinking

I was always in bed recuperating, so I had time to use my brain. I get to know people, I get to know myself, and I get to know him. He can't hurt you; but if you step aside he'll hurt the next one, and that's me.

On the face of it, the first crisis is over

No, they were all going to be saved, there was no doubt about it; the tide swung sharply to Ralph's side, and the crisis was over. Piggy gasped and tried to catch his breath, but failed. He was lying next to a log, his mouth wide open, and his lips were covered with a circle of purple marks. No one paid any attention to him.
