He travels across the western desert and Pacific Railway construction sites of the United States in the 1860s. In order to regain the girl he loves, he takes revenge on the railroad tycoons who exploited Chinese workers, the vicious foreman who oppressed workers, and the racist white police officers. This book has elements of suspense and fantasy, and a strong sense of imagery. It aims to reconstruct American western novels and reveal the lives of Chinese Americans and immigrants in the second half of the nineteenth century. "Zhu Ming's Thousand Sins" was recommended by the editors of the New York Times and Amazon. Com after its publication, was selected as the Los Angeles Times' 2021 Summer Best Book, and won the 2022 Andrew Carnegie Award for Outstanding Fiction.
