This book is a novel, which mainly describes the story of an illegal polluting iron factory in a mountain village in northern Hunan that polluted the beautiful natural environment of the mountain village for seven years without stopping production. Later, in order to protect the natural environment and return a blue sky to the villagers, a group of Communists led by Bai Yichen, a farmer from the mountain village and a demobilized soldier, rose up to defend their rights and fought against illegal polluting iron plants. They eventually forced the polluting iron plants to close completely and finally gave the people a pure space. The work reflects people's concerns about environmental pollution during the period of social change, and also reflects the increasing awareness of environmental protection among the people.
