Daming City Wall
About This Novel
Archaeologists discovered a very special city brick from the Ming Dynasty in the city wall of Nanjing: it had the handprints of a man and a woman on it, with sixteen characters - "Yuan Shui Tang Tang, the kiln fire is booming. My sister's hand, the sun and the moon grow together." Based on the inscription on the city brick, the archaeologists found the hometown of the potter who made this city brick, thus unveiling a story that has been sealed for more than 600 years. The potters Tang Heqi, Tang Bing and Tang Man were three generations of the same family. They made bricks and built the city and went through many hardships. Tang Man was praised by Zhu Yuanzhang for firing "white jade bricks". However, Tang Man had no intention of being an official, only a craftsman. The love story between Tang Man and Mingyue, a girl from a rich family, is full of twists and turns, moving the world. Tang Heqi, Tang Bing, Tang Man, Tie Zhu, Li Hei, Liu Dehua, Huang Niu Si... These names engraved on the bricks of Nanjing city walls are resurrected in the novel. The novel takes you through time and space, into the Ming Dynasty, and into the lives of craftsmen...
