About This Novel
The book takes the ambitious and enterprising Emperor Zhao Heng of the Song Dynasty as the main line, and narrates the changes in the early Northern Song Dynasty through the ups and downs of the plot. The other main line revolves around the development of Jingdezhen's porcelain industry, the establishment of the town in the first year of Jingde (1004), and Jingdezhen's unique porcelain-making technology. The author Zhan Mingrong graduated from Jiangxi Normal University with a bachelor's degree in Chinese language and literature. He is a writer, artist, ceramicist, and a visiting scholar of fine arts at the Graduate School of the China Academy of Arts. He has successively served as deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Leping Municipal Party Committee, editor-in-chief of the Leping Newspaper, vice-chairman of the Jingdezhen Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and deputy director of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee of the Jingdezhen Municipal People's Congress. He is the author of a collection of essays "Blue Moonlight" and a collection of novels "Venus of the Lotus Lake".
