About This Novel
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911. In order to commemorate this great revolution, in this issue we excerpt some chapters from Mr. Ji Yu's new work "Iron-Blooded Heroes" for readers' enjoyment. On October 10, 1911, a new army uprising broke out in Wuchang, and the insurgents quickly occupied Wuchang. The next day, Hanyang and Hankou were recovered one after another, and then various parts of Hubei responded to the uprising. The uprising became more and more powerful and spread rapidly around Hubei. On the night of the rapid expansion of the Wuchang Uprising, news spread to Anhui, and Anhui reporters disclosed the news as quickly as possible. On November 5, Shouxian County, located in the center of Huaishang, first raised the flag of rebellion; then, the Anqing New Army also launched an uprising on November 8. After that, the Jianghuai land was turbulent, and Luzhou, Wuhu and other places successively declared independence. By late November, Anhui, except for a few places such as Bozhou, all responded to the revolution.
