Luohua Town
About This Novel
At that time, Luohua Town was called Meixikou, and it was quietly stuck on the waist of Luohua River. It was just a bay of clear water and a street built along the river, but it connected the north of Guangxi and the south of Hunan. Therefore, the street was called Meixi Street. The men and women walking on the streets either have a strong Xiang accent or a light Cantonese accent. As time goes by, the Hunan accent and the Cantonese accent blend together and it becomes impossible to distinguish what is the real Hunan accent and what is the real Cantonese accent. It doesn't matter to them, they rely on the shops on Meixi Street to do business. Most of the businesses from the north are groceries, and the most distinctive one is the Wugang Tofu, Baoqing Breast Duck, Hengyang Braised Chicken. The business from the south is much more particular. They deal in Jiangnan silk and satin and western Guangdong salt. The worst thing is Guilin's medicinal herbs. Their life is much more nourishing than those from the north.
