This book is the fourth rural novel written by the author. Based on what Zhao Shunhe saw, heard and felt as a child, this book originally reproduces the people, stories, natural environment and social features of Houhangzhuang, Shanmiao Commune, Runshui County, northern Jiangsu in the 1970s and 1980s.
