Head east from Dazu County and take an hour's bus ride to Huilong Town. Huilong Town borders Xiaolin Township, Tongliang County in the north, and is about 30 kilometers away from Tongliang County. In 1989, I took my students to visit the memorial hall of martyr Qiu Shaoyun, the hero of the War to Resist U. S. Aggression and Aid Korea. The martyrs' monument standing in front of the memorial hall is 15 meters high. On the top of the monument is a 5-meter-high bronze statue of the martyrs. The title of the monument was inscribed by Commander-in-Chief Zhu. It is adjacent to Baoding Town and Zhifeng Town to the west. Baoding Mountain in Baoding Town is the main location of the world-famous Dazu Rock Carvings. It has the largest, highest artistic value and best-preserved Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara statue in the world. I don't know what Zhifeng Town is about, I only know that it is the hometown of Master Zhao Zhifeng, the founder of Dazu Rock Carvings. It is adjacent to Jinshan Town in the south.
