Hometown: the Fate of Villages in the Process of Modernization
by Yellow Light
About This Novel
Hometown is beautiful. For thousands of years, the hometown has become a place of spiritual and emotional sustenance for outsiders. For me, my hometown is the root of my life and the source of my emotions. Even though I have been studying abroad for many years, my concern and longing for my hometown have not diminished at all. No matter how busy I am, I try to go home and stay for a while during the holidays every year. What surprises me is that in recent years, I have found that my desire to go home is not as strong as before. For me, my hometown seems to have an invisible barrier. As for where this barrier comes from, it is hazy before my eyes. I have to admit that the romantic imagination of my hometown in my youth was certainly one of the important reasons for my change in mentality, but her changes in the past ten years are indeed shocking.
