About This Novel
The novel "Snowy Boat" takes Zhou Xiang, an ordinary soldier from the literary and art propaganda team as the main line, and narrates the story of the early 1950s, when the local government organized farmers and herdsmen to rush to transport materials to the road construction troops in order to build the Bomei section of the Kangzang Highway, so that it could be opened to traffic as soon as possible. The novel presents a huge social group, including Zongben (county chief), living Buddhas, and ordinary Tibetan people. The exquisite carvings of ordinary Tibetan people truly reflect the social landscape of Tibet at that time and the hardships of life of the lower class, as well as their resignation to oppression, their panic towards the powerful, and their desire for the new life to come.
