About This Novel

After World War II, humans began to widely use chemical pesticides represented by DDT. They appear harmless when packaged by pesticide manufacturers, but the public is in the dark about the truth. For this reason, a worried Rachel Carlson wrote "Silent Spring" to tell the world about the dangers of highly toxic pesticides: they will be passed through the food chain, destroying the ecosystem, and ultimately endangering human health. After the publication of "Silent Spring", it aroused widespread response and promoted the international community's restriction of highly toxic pesticides. It gave birth to the modern environmental movement, prompting us to seek a path in harmony with nature. It has therefore become a popular science classic that everyone must read.
