Alexander Trilogy 2: the Persian Boy
About This Novel
"Persian Boy" continues the story of Alexander the Great's last seven years with a moving first-person memoir. The narrator of the story is a real Persian - Alexander's young and handsome companion Bagoas. This boy was sold as a slave when he was young and became the favorite of the Persian King Darius. At first, he only heard about Alexander's victory that shocked the government and the public through rumors in the palace. Later, on the battlefield of Gaugamela, Alexander defeated Darius again and forced him to flee. After the death of Darius, Bagoas was presented to Alexander's court as a peace gift. Alexander has little experience in sensual enjoyment, but has always had a deep need for affection; Bagouos is good at pleasing people, but has never been able to realize his boyish dream of love. Their meeting seemed destined. During the long journey, love gave Alexander infinite comfort. After assassination plots, interracial marriages and fluctuations in military morale, he never lost his attachment to Bagouos. Mary Renault, the author of this book, is well-known in Europe and the United States and is recognized as a master of historical novels. Zhang Ailing, President Kennedy, William Golding, the Nobel Prize winner "Lord of the Flies" author, and Hilary Mantel, the Booker Prize winner "Wolf Hall" author, are all her loyal readers. His representative works include the Alexander Trilogy ("Fire in Heaven", "Persian Boy" and "Funeral Games"), "The Charioteer", "The Last Wine" and "The King Must Die".

The first book in the Alexander trilogy, and the only book written by Marie Renault.
Alexander's untimely death makes people sad. He was invincible, wise and brave, a commander, a general, a military strategist, a statesman, a king, and an emperor. Unprecedented and unprecedented!
