Adventures in Budapest
by Ye Zhou
About This Novel
A Chinese American female reporter traveled to Europe with her daughter, met a large number of Syrian refugees in Budapest, and witnessed this scene: a seven-year-old boy who originally fled the war with his mother and sister and lived in a foreign country. The road ahead was blocked. In order to take care of her younger daughter who fell ill on the way, the mother had to take the risk and entrust her son to a stranger, allowing him to continue their journey to Germany with the stranger. When the female reporter saw this, she was heartbroken - in the 21st century, how come human suffering is still always there? The sun has risen on the hillside on the other side of the Danube River, and the waves on the river are sparkling and dazzling. Shao Xiangqun and his daughter Sophia, who had just graduated from high school, walked out of the hotel lobby by the river and took a taxi to the train station. After staying in Budapest for a few days from Los Angeles, they planned to take the train to Vienna.
