About This Novel

This book is based on the Anti-Japanese War in the 1940s, and the story takes place in the D prisoner-of-war camp on Shen Island. Here, as a Chinese prisoner of war, the protagonist Yu Shushi spent three years and eight months of hell together with more than 10,000 people from different countries, races, classes, sects, and religious beliefs from the United States, Britain, India, Canada, the Philippines, the Netherlands, and Italy, under the "management" and abuse of the Japanese army.
