About This Novel
Background The famous World War II broke out on the European continent. Subsequently, Japan simultaneously ignited war in Asia. In order to crush the ambition of Japan, Germany and Italy to encircle Eurasia and dominate the world, the United States sent a large amount of aid supplies to China through Myanmar, disembarked from Yangon, and then transported them to Yunnan via the Burma Highway. For a time, Yangon was surprisingly prosperous in the early days of World War II. At that time, Myanmar had become a British colony. In order to please Japan and protect the rear of its Far East colonies, the British government signed an agreement on July 18, 1940, to block the Burma Highway for three months to block the shipment of anti-Japanese aid materials to China. However, Japan did not accept the British sentiment. In September of the same year, it invaded Vietnam and signed a friendship treaty with Thailand. Immediately afterwards, the Japanese army entered Burma.
