About This Novel

This series of books was edited and compiled from the lecture series of the Imperial College Lecture Hall organized by the Capital Development Institute of Peking University. Its main purpose is to popularize the knowledge of Chinese studies and introduce traditional Chinese culture to national civil servants and ordinary people in society. This volume is "Wenyuan Yinghua", which introduces representative classic literary works and representative figures from the pre-Qin Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, in order to enable readers to understand the development of Chinese literature and further understand the artistic value and social significance of the works. This is the first of two series. This is the first series, with a total of 14 lectures. It includes literary classics and representative writers from the pre-Qin to the late Tang Dynasty, including the Book of Songs, Chu Ci, Han Fu, Chinese five-character poems, nineteen ancient poems, poems from the Six Dynasties, Tang poems, etc.
