About This Novel
"The Same Sea" is a poetic novel. It is Oz's most valued work. It is also a novel in which he unreservedly poured his ideals and talents. It is known as "Israel's Love in the Time of Cholera". Not far from the sea, sixty-year-old Albert lives alone on Amirim Street. His wife died of ovarian cancer early one morning. Their only son went to Tibet despite his father's objections in order to find himself. The son's girlfriend is penniless and moves into Albert's house. He believed in religion, but she was dangling in front of him in a short skirt that could not cover her body, and she stayed up all night, which made him obsessed.
