"Book of the Later Han" is a biographical history book that records the history of the Eastern Han Dynasty. It was written by Fan Ye during the Liu and Song Dynasties in the Southern Dynasty. The book is divided into 120 volumes, including 10 volumes of chronicles, 80 volumes of biographies and 30 volumes of chronicles. It records about 200 years of history from the last years of Wang Mang to Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty. The characters in the book have distinct images, outstanding personalities, and are somewhat typical. For example, Li Ying and Fan Pang, who sacrificed their lives for righteousness, are of extremely high literary and historical value.
