"The Scenery Here" is a novel written by Wang Meng in the 1970s. The novel is set in the rural areas of Xinjiang, starting from the commune grain theft case, using layers of suspense and the unique customs of the Western Regions to show readers a panoramic view of life in the modern Western Regions. At the same time, it also reflects the real life of the Han and Uighur ethnic groups under the special historical background, as well as the mutual understanding and care between the two peoples. This book won the 9th Mao Dun Literature Award.

This novel goes deep into the local life of the Xinjiang people, describing everything from food, clothing, housing, transportation, language habits to customs and cultural beliefs. It accurately expresses the optimistic and enthusiastic national temperament of the Xinjiang people, as well as their emotional appeal. Literature is the study of humanity. No matter what era we are in, human nature is eternal, and people with all kinds of personalities exist. There are such people at all times and in all places who are kind, smart, smart, brave, upright, selfless, wise, cowardly, reckless, confused, boring, gullible, cunning, selfish, vicious, dark, arrogant, headstrong, and hypocritical. The political situation is changing, and various people repeat their own character traits on different stages. Looking at the past decades later, we will have a deeper understanding of human nature rather than politics. Characters such as Kutuzhar, Zhang Yang, Musa, Mai Sumu, Bao Tinggui, Hao Yulan, and Pasha Khan basically live a happy life in the novel by calling the shots, pretending to be gods and ghosts, and because of the theme of good over evil, the novel introduces villains one after another. Exposed and losing the nourishing soil, however, in real life, it is often these people who use their life principles to help themselves gain more benefits without losing anything or being relegated to another book. This is the paradox of life. There are more people who have always devoted themselves to their passion and ideals, such as Ilham Ilham, Yang Hui, Sailimu, Lixiti... However, decades later, in real life, there are probably fewer and fewer such people. Xinjiang is a place where many ethnic groups live together. The beautiful scenery of Ili, the customs of the Uyghur nation, their ability to sing and dance, love of cleanliness, etiquette, love of beauty, devout beliefs, and vivid and wise language all make people feel respected. The scenery here is also quite good.
