About This Novel
This book is a collection of the author's papers on Yan Fu's military, political and mass-science thoughts in recent years. It mainly consists of three parts. There are two papers in the "Military Thoughts" section, which for the first time conduct a relatively systematic discussion of Yan Fu's thoughts on naval construction and sea power, military strategic thoughts and their characteristics. There are 6 papers in the "Political Thought" section, which respectively analyze the context of Yan Fu's "Pi Han" and its relationship with the changes in Taoism in the late Qing Dynasty, Yan Fu's nationalism, Yan Fu's understanding of Russia and Sino-Russian relations, the connections and differences between Yan Fu and the "conservatism" of the British thinker Burke, Yan Fu's conception of the founding of the country in his later years and the similarities and differences with Sun Yat-sen's founding thought.
