In 1944, the Anti-Japanese War entered the most difficult year. The Japanese army launched the "No. 1 Plan" and the Great War in Central Henan broke out. Under the fierce Japanese offensive, the national army retreated steadily and was completely defeated. Commanders Jiang Dingwen and Tang Enbo abandoned tens of thousands of troops and fled in embarrassment. In the end, the Japanese army attacked several cities including Zhengzhou, Xuchang, and Luoyang, and marched directly to Changsha and Hengyang, intending to open up the mainland's transportation lines and reach Chongqing. Wherever the troops went, there was smoke everywhere. As the war progressed, the Japanese army began to attack Hengyang City, where the Kuomintang's 10th Army was stationed. The war broke out and lasted for more than forty days. It was the most brutal offensive and defensive battle since the Anti-Japanese War. As soldiers, the fates of Tong Man's cousins, war supervisor Cai Jigang, pilot Cai Jiheng and others were tied together because of this war.

This is my favorite anti-Japanese drama to watch. It is very detailed and I like it very much.

He took his adjutant Shen Guangya to hurriedly inspect the defenses on the river embankment, and then talked with Li Zhenfu, the commander of the 354th Regiment of the defenders, for more than an hour. It was already evening before he knew it.
