The Heart is a Lonely Hunter
About This Novel
This book is the author's first book focusing on ordinary people in the United States. The story takes place in the 1930s. The mute Singer lived with his mute best friend Antonapoulos in a small town in the middle of the United States. Antonapoulos was sent to a mental hospital because of his madness. Singer could not bear the loneliness and left their shared residence and moved into a dilapidated boarding house in the center of the town. He had three meals a day in a cafe not far away. In this cafe, Singer met the music-loving "tomboy" Mick, Jack who tried to reform society, the black doctor Copeland who was committed to awakening the self-awareness of his compatriots, and the seemingly indifferent cafe owner Biff... People here are willing to talk to the gentle, calm and kind-hearted Singer, hoping to seek comfort from him. People in the small town met because of similar loneliness, but were unable to change the fate that swept through that era of economic depression, racial inequality, and the widening gap between rich and poor...

People always think that being different from the majority means loneliness, but they don't know that trying to fit in with the majority means loneliness.
I've been to many places, but I've only met a few of us
passing by
But I support this kind of writing, come on
Award-winning work, why no one sees it.
good book
Some places can make me sleepy, some places can attract me to read into the early morning, some characters can find similarities in themselves, seemingly ordinary people have powerful pursuits in their hearts, we are not alone, because we have no time to think, we are busy every day
The mission is passing by. . . . .
Revealing a period of social history through ordinary life
human freedom
There are things that people must do when they are alive in the world, but there are so many things that we must do that make us become a tool or a machine, with no vitality and no opportunity to pursue what we like. Maybe you don't know what you like at all. Just like Haizi said, living towards death, maybe we should think about what we like when we isolate ourselves from the world. Loneliness is such a reality, just like life is like this.
Passing by the soy sauce shop. . . . . . .
I passed by and took a look at yours. I bought a schoolbag through heart to heart. 7033
