About This Novel
"The Scream" is Lu Xun's first collection of novels. In 1918, the New Culture Movement was at its peak. Lu Xun wrote his first vernacular novel "Diary of a Madman" because of a conversation about the "iron house" with his old friend "Jin Xinyi" (Qian Xuantong). By 1922, as the May Fourth Movement was gradually fading, Lu Xun was invited by Chen Duxiu to publish a collection of his previous novels, with the purpose of "crying out" for the New Culture Movement and comforting those "galloping warriors" in the struggle, so that they could move forward fearlessly. The new edition of "The Scream" completely contains fourteen novels written by Lu Xun from 1918 to 1922, a preface, and a long postscript written by Mr. Chen Danqing specially for the new edition.

Why do we still charge money for Lu Xun's books? Although a book is good, you don't necessarily have to charge money to highlight its goodness. Lu Xun's books are very useful for a student. I hope Lu Xun's books don't charge money to promote history and see culture.

It is understandable that some of the sentences are not fluent. After all, Mr. Lu is from a different era from us. In his time, it should be correct. Just like in an article when he was a child, he used "probably maybe", which is correct. But how to explain the typos and not say it is a fake word? I don't know if it was printed wrong! For example, the word "very" in the first verse should be "ruthless".
I didn't really like reading books at first, but after reading this book, I fell in love with it.
Lu Xun is worthy of being one of the most important figures in the modern history of our country. A great thinker, "with a cold brow and a thousand fingers, he bows his head and is willing to be a bully". His spirit of being willing to sacrifice his own interests for the interests of the entire nation for the great rejuvenation of the country is worth learning from us.
