Chekhov's Works Collection: Short Stories and Humorous Sketch
About This Novel
This book is a collection of Chekhov's early short stories and humorous sketches, translated from the second volume of "The Complete Works and Letters of Chekhov" published in Moscow from 1974 to 1983. This book contains a total of 131 works of varying lengths (from dozens of words to thousands of words). In Chekhov's early creations, humorous sketches (including "essays" such as humor, satire, ridicule, critical exposure, and so-called "funny stories", etc.) Played a large role. Many works are short, concise and concise. As the author matures ideologically and artistically (including language), the language of his works (especially the language of various "essays") has made great progress: some works are obscure and tortuous, but they are sure to hit the mark; some works are witty and humorous, but straightforward and heartfelt.

Feeling rich
Suddenly I felt that everyone around me had changed. Not false at all! Everyone seemed to be getting better. Ugly men become handsome men, villains become good men, proud men become humble men, and haters of the world become philanthropists. I also seem to have become brighter and more open-minded. I see great qualities in people that I had never even thought of before. "How strange!" I said, looking at the people around me and rubbing my eyes. "Either something happened to these people, or I was too stupid in the past to notice all these qualities. People, people, you are such lovely people!"
Vodka is white, but it can dye your nose red and your reputation black.
The editor actually put brackets in brackets when writing notes for this book, which made me a little confused when I read it.
good book
Great book, I support you!
A vivid description of the ugliness of society at that time
Haha, so ironic, I can't help laughing
Biscuit has no hands or feet, but it does have nails! What a creation of nature! This green rag was hidden five years ago inside a sausage sold in one of Moscow's best food stores. This dried cockroach once bathed in a vegetable soup I had while dining in a railway station restaurant. The nail was hidden in a meatloaf and was also found in that restaurant. This rat tail and this small piece of goatskin both appear in the same loaf of bread produced at the Filippov Food Factory. My wife was given a large cake on her name day and she found a herring in the cake and now only the bones are left. This little bug was a bed bug, and it appeared in a glass of beer given to me in a German pub... I almost swallowed this small piece of bird droppings. I was in a restaurant and almost finished a big pie with relish. The biscuit had no hands or feet, but it had nails! What a creation of nature! Chekhov wrote very well
But the translation is too messy. . . .
The first time I came into contact with Chekhov's work was "Fanka" in the Chinese textbook
Very well written
