As long as you have the heart, you will lose nothing wherever you go. The novel consists of forty chapters, narrated in the first person. The structure of the novel adopts the form of two intersecting and parallel lines, consisting of two seemingly completely unrelated storylines. The twenty odd-numbered chapters are "Cold Wonderland" and the even-numbered chapters are "The End of the World". The two stories seem to be unrelated, but in fact the "I" in the two stories are essentially two sides of the same person. The "I" in "Cold Wonderland" is the actual real world, and the "I" in "The End of the World" is the virtual world in the subconscious. "I" is in a state of self-division and is at a loss to deal with all the fluctuations. The tragedy is caused by "I" being unable to change the two worlds and being confused and helpless. Both plots are extremely absurd, and the novel uses a deformed technique to express the author's understanding of contemporary capitalist society. "End of the World" can see the shadow of Kafka's "The Castle", which is relatively gentle and depressing. The "Cold Wonderland" part is full of American hard-boiled detective novels and science fiction, with a twists and turns and tense plot. The major Chinese publishers of Haruki Murakami's works and translator Lin Shaohua have joined hands to present a new revised edition of Haruki Murakami's long-running series. In terms of design, we cooperated with the internationally renowned illustrator NomaBar. The three colors of black, white and red depict the subtle blur in Murakami's works between the square and the circle, and the overall presentation is both simple and classic. In terms of content, a lot of revisions have been made around foreign words, restoring the details of the author's intentional emphasis in the original version. Lin Shaohua updated the prefaces of the translations of many works, and made slight adjustments to some of the tone and expressions in the translations. The chronology of Haruki Murakami has been updated to the latest, and a music list is attached at the end of each book.
