"Feng Shen Yan Yi", commonly known as "Feng Shen Bang", is one of the most famous novels about gods and demons in ancient China. It was compiled by Xu Zhonglin in the Ming Dynasty and was written around the years of Longqing and Wanli. The book has one hundred chapters in total. Based on the history of Jiang Ziya assisting the Zhou Dynasty (King Wen of Zhou and King Wu of Zhou) in the crusade against Shang Zhou, it describes the story of explaining the teachings, intercepting the teachings, fighting wits and courage among the immortals, and breaking the formation and beheading the generals to become gods.
