About This Novel
"The Romance of the Gods" is commonly known as the "Fengshen Bang", also known as "The Complete Biography of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties", "The Foreign History of King Wu's Conquest of Zhou", and "The Legend of the Fengshen". It is a well-known novel about gods and demons second only to "Journey to the West". The author Xu Zhonglin used her rich imagination and extensive Taoist knowledge to organize the folk stories of gods into a great mythological masterpiece. "The Romance of the Gods" tells the story of the late Shang Dynasty, when King Zhou was tyrannical and cruel, favored Daji, and the princes from all over the world rose up to resist the tyranny. Many characters are lifelike, such as the resourceful Jiang Ziya, Nezha who dares to love and hate, the cruel King Zhou, the insidious Daji, the cunning Gongsun Bao... All of them leave a deep impression on the readers.
